Keeping My Job During A Recession
I’m a machine operator at a local shop. When the recession hit our company management was looking for ways to save money. They decided to have all the machine operators take mechanical training courses. The courses were required to teach us how to repair our equipment in case it may malfunction. Many of the workers complained that they would not be be receiving extra money for the extra skills. I really thought that it was a great way for us to keep our job in such hard times. I decided that I would be the first to sign up for training.
