Alpaca Socks: fiber texture

The texture of alpaca fibers varies according to their classifications. There are two types of alpaca- the Huacaya alpaca produces a fleece that is dense and water resistant. The Suri Alpaca grows fine and lustrous fibers. Both types can create a warm and cozy pair of alpaca socks. An alpaca hair is resilient and can last longer compared to regular wool fabrics. Aside from its resilience in nature, this fiber does not contain lanolin or grease and it is perfect for individuals who have sensitive skin. Because alpaca animals can produce over twenty natural colors, dyeing the fiber is not always necessary. This makes the material non- toxic or chemical free. In addition to this, alpaca fibers are environmentally friendly and 100 percent organic.
